CPQ Software for Compressor Manufacturers
CPQ software for compressor manufacturers configures a compressor package from the duty the customer needs, checks it against your engineering rules, prices it from cost data and produces the quote. Ignitionary does this for air and gas compressor makers: compressor type, capacity at working pressure, drive and motor, cooling, air treatment and controls, validated as they are picked, with the datasheet, BOM and package drawing data on the quote.
What gets configured on a compressor quote
From the duty point to a buildable package
Type and lubrication
Rotary screw, reciprocating, scroll or centrifugal, oil-flooded or oil-free, each with its own valid capacity and pressure range.
Capacity and pressure
Required flow at working pressure, which selects the airend or compression stage and the operating point.
Drive and motor
Fixed-speed or variable-speed drive, motor output, voltage, phase and frequency, and starter type.
Cooling and enclosure
Air- or water-cooled, ambient temperature range, sound enclosure and indoor or outdoor duty.
Air treatment
Dryers, filters, drains and receivers, sized to the air quality the application needs.
Controls and options
Controller, remote monitoring, sequencing for multi-compressor systems, heat recovery and special paint.
Engineering rules a compressor configurator enforces
Compressor quotes usually fail on the operating point: a package that cannot deliver the flow at the pressure, or a motor that is undersized at maximum pressure. These are the rules manufacturers typically encode, with limits taken from their own performance data.
- Flow at pressure from the performance data. The requested capacity and working pressure are checked against your airend or stage performance data, so only models that can deliver the duty are offered.
- Motor sized for the worst case. Motor output is checked against the shaft power the compressor draws at its maximum pressure, not the nominal point, with the service factor your engineers allow.
- Air quality drives treatment. The required air quality class, for example stated against ISO 8573-1, selects the dryer type and filter grades, and blocks combinations that cannot reach it.
- Cooling follows the site. Ambient temperature and altitude limits decide whether air cooling is allowed, and water-cooled units pull in water flow and connection data.
- Receiver and system sizing. Receiver volume is checked against the flow and the control method your rules specify, and variable-speed packages get their own sizing rule.
When a rule fails, the configurator names it and shows the value against the limit, so the rep can adjust the duty or pass the request to application engineering with the numbers attached.

See the approach in the live demo
The demo configures tubular heaters, but the pattern is the one a compressor package needs: selections on the left, engineering checks and outputs on the right

At the heating element manufacturer in our customer story, 200+ engineering formulas were encoded across 30+ product types, and quoting fell from 30 to 45 minutes to 3 to 5 with zero calculation errors since go-live.
Compressor packages share rules with pumps and fluid handling and receivers and pressure vessels; those pages show the same approach. For the commercial side, see how much CPQ software costs and the CPQ ROI calculator.
Frequently asked questions
It is software that configures a compressor package from the required flow, pressure and site conditions, checks it against engineering rules drawn from your performance data, prices it from cost data, and produces a quote with a datasheet and BOM, without an application engineer rebuilding each selection by hand.
Yes. Your performance data is encoded as rules, so the requested capacity at working pressure narrows the models and stages that can deliver it, and the motor is checked against the power drawn at maximum pressure.
Yes, from your sizing rules. The required air quality selects dryer type and filter grades, and receiver volume is checked against flow and control method. Anything outside the rules goes to engineering.
Yes. A system can be configured as several packages plus sequencing controls and shared air treatment, with each package validated on its own and the system priced as one quote.
Plans start at $1,500 a month with up to 5 sales seats and one product line. Implementation starts at $10,000 for a fixed-scope first product line. ERP and CAD integration are priced separately; see the pricing page.
