SyteLine Product Configurator and CPQ
A SyteLine configurator lets sales build a valid configured product, price it from SyteLine item and cost data, and send it back to SyteLine as a customer order with the BOM and routing production needs. Ignitionary does that for Infor SyteLine, formerly CloudSuite Industrial, in the cloud or on premises: engineering rules checked as options are picked, cost-based pricing, and quotes that carry drawings or CAD files when the product needs them.
Why SyteLine manufacturers add a configurator
Infor positions SyteLine for complex manufacturing: engineer-to-order, configure-to-order, mixed-mode and high-volume production. That is exactly where quoting gets slow. A configure-to-order product has hundreds of valid combinations, and someone has to check that each one can be built, work out its BOM and routing, cost it, and key it into SyteLine as a customer order or estimate.
When that work lives in spreadsheets and in the heads of two application engineers, quotes queue up behind them, and small keying errors surface on the shop floor. A configurator moves the rules to the point of sale. The rep picks options, the rules decide what is valid, the price comes from SyteLine costs, and the order arrives in SyteLine already structured.
Infor also sells its own CPQ, which SyteLine can use for configurable items on estimates and orders. Some manufacturers use Ignitionary instead of it for engineered product lines; others use it for a particular line, a dealer channel or a configurator on their own website. Either way SyteLine stays the system of record.
What moves between Ignitionary and SyteLine
Agreed per product line during implementation; this is the usual starting point
Read from SyteLine
- Items and their descriptions, units and product codes, so every option maps to a real record.
- Current materials and operations on template items, as the starting BOM and routing for a configured product.
- Costs and prices item costs for cost-based pricing, plus price lists and customer-specific pricing.
- Customers ship-to addresses and terms, so the quote is built for the right account.
Written back to SyteLine
- Estimates or customer orders with configured lines, quantities and final prices.
- The configured item as a new item with its own BOM and routing, or as a job built from the configuration, whichever your planners prefer.
- Attachments such as the spec sheet or quote PDF, linked to the order.
- References back to the Ignitionary quote, so sales and production see the same configuration.
The connection is built as an ERP connector during implementation, against the APIs your SyteLine deployment exposes. Infor publishes APIs for SyteLine and for ION, its integration layer, through its developer portal. Cloud tenants usually connect through the ION API gateway; on-premises installs are scoped against the version you run. How ERP integration works across systems is covered on the ERP integration page.
What the rep sees before the order reaches SyteLine
A real screen from the live demo, no signup needed
Every option change re-runs the rules. If a combination breaks one, the configurator names the rule and the numbers and blocks the quote, so nothing unbuildable is written to SyteLine. When the product needs drawings, the same configuration exports STL and DXF files or, with CAD automation, drives your SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Inventor models.
At the heating element manufacturer in our customer story, 200+ engineering formulas were encoded across 30+ product types, and quoting fell from 30 to 45 minutes to 3 to 5 with zero calculation errors since go-live. For the other Infor ERPs, see the Infor product configurator page; for budgeting, how much CPQ software costs.

SyteLine configurator questions
A SyteLine configurator is software that builds a valid configured product for an Infor SyteLine manufacturer, prices it from SyteLine data, and writes it back to SyteLine as an estimate or customer order with the BOM and routing production needs. Infor offers its own CPQ for this; Ignitionary is an independent alternative.
Yes. Infor sold SyteLine as CloudSuite Industrial (CSI) for several years and now markets it as Infor SyteLine again. Ignitionary works with both names and versions, in the cloud or on premises, subject to the APIs your version exposes.
Through an ERP connector built during implementation against SyteLine's APIs, usually via the Infor ION API gateway for cloud tenants. It reads items, template BOMs and routings, costs, prices and customers, and writes estimates or customer orders with configured lines back to SyteLine.
Yes, if that is how your planners want it. The other common option is a job built from the configuration against a template item. Which one fits depends on how often configurations repeat and how you cost them, and it is agreed per product line during implementation.
Very little. Reps use the configurator in a browser and never need SyteLine forms to quote. The people who maintain rules and pricing are trained as part of implementation, which for Core is fixed-scope and includes training and go-live.
Plans start at $1,500 a month. Implementation starts at $10,000 for a fixed-scope first product line; the SyteLine ERP connector is an add-on on Core and is scoped in the implementation quote. See the pricing page for Growth and Scale.
